The Gift of Guidance

Anyone who by faith, has believed, received, and confessed salvation in Christ, has been given the gift of the Holy Spirit!

“But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.””

Romans 10:8-11 ESV

Initial salvation opens the door to Spirit’s gift of a deeper walk with Jesus

“Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.”

2 Corinthians 7:1 ESV

The Holy Spirit guides us to the TRUTH that TRANSFORMS. Without the Spirit there is no truth.

“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.””

John 4:23-24 ESV

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.””

John 8:31-32 ESV

The Gift of Guidance

The Holy Spirit is in you to guide you.  This guidance is a gift from the Father to show us the straight path to Him.

Just like an earthly father guides their children, our Heavenly Father graciously guides us.

““Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”

Matthew 7:7-11 ESV
